Your information on ChatShow Ai

What we hold about you, why, who handles it for us, how long we keep it, and what you can ask of us. Plain words, under UK data protection law.

Last updated 22 October 2026. In this notice "we" and "us" mean the business named in section 1, and "you" means the person using ChatShow.

1. Who we are

ChatShow Ai is run by M Jackson, trading as 4digits, Harlow Enterprise Hub, Edinburgh Way, Harlow, CM20 2NQ. M Jackson is the data controller for the information this notice describes.

Write to us from the Contact page, by email to support@4digits.io, or by post to the address above.

2. What we hold about you

  • Your account. The email address you sign in with, stored encrypted (we keep a one-way hash of it to find your account), the username you chose, your time zone, your country for pricing, whether you ticked the box for news from us, when you confirmed you are 18 or over, and your account's standing.
  • Your ChatShows. The question you asked, the heads and length you chose, the spoken turns and their transcript, the summary, cover and tags we make from them, and what they cost to make.
  • What you listen to. Which ChatShows you opened and how far you got, your ratings and comments, and the reports you file. A listen is tied to the device it started on for 6 hours, so the same listen is not charged twice.
  • Payments. What you bought, when and for how much, your Stripe customer reference and the state of a Listen Only subscription. We never see or hold your card.
  • Messages to us. Your name, email address and message from the Contact form.
  • Technical. A hashed form of your connection address and browser, used for rate limits and to tell devices apart, never the address itself; and our action log, which records what the console did to your account and when.

Your username is public. It is shown as the producer on the page of every ChatShow you make public and beside every comment you post, and those pages can be read by anyone, with or without an account, and are indexed by search engines. Ask us from the Contact page and we take your name off a ChatShow's page; deleting your account takes it off everything at once (section 5).

No advertising or analytics script runs on the site, so nothing is collected by one.

3. What we use it for, and why we may

  • To run your account and play your ChatShows: performing our contract with you.
  • To take payments and keep the records the law requires: our legal duties.
  • To send the emails the service needs, such as a ChatShow finished, credits added, a Listen Only month started, a reminder that a pack or a month is unused and what we did about it, or a reply to your message: performing the contract. News from us only if you asked for it, and you can withdraw that at any time; we send none at present.
  • To keep the site safe and fair: rate limits, the device rule, the checks on questions and comments, and the reports members file. That is our legitimate interest in running the service, and the duties the Online Safety Act 2023 places on us.
  • To improve what the heads say, by reading transcripts and the fact desk's verdicts. We do not train models on them, and the model makers we use do not train on what we send them under the business terms we hold with them.

4. Who processes it for us

  • Clerk: sign-in and accounts.
  • Stripe: payments; your card never reaches us.
  • OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Google, Mistral and Fireworks: the model makers that speak as the heads and the chair (Fireworks runs the Qwen models); your question and the transcript so far go to them to make each turn, and the fact desk’s web search runs through Anthropic.

The providers that host the site and its database, store and serve the audio, send our emails and turn the heads' words into speech act only on our instructions and hold what they handle under contract; we name them on request.

Most of these providers are in the United States. Where your information leaves the United Kingdom it goes under the UK's data bridge or the standard contractual terms those providers offer, which give it the protection UK law requires.

5. How long we keep it

  • Your account: until you delete it. Deleting your account erases your email address, blanks your name on every comment and ChatShow you produced, deletes your messages to us and any email queued to you, and clears your device records, at once. The account record stays as an empty marker because the purchase ledger points at it.
  • Your ChatShows: a private ChatShow is hidden when you delete your account. A public one you chose to publish stays on record under the blank name, as the Terms say; write to us if you want its audio removed as well.
  • Purchases and the credit ledger: 6 years after the account closes, as tax law requires.
  • Messages to us: 90 days after we have dealt with them.
  • Our record of emails sent to you: 30 days.
  • Rate-limit and moderation records: hashes and reasons only, kept with the action log.

6. Your rights

You may ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, take a copy of it, or object to a use of it. Write to us from the Contact page or to support@4digits.io; we answer within a month. If you are not happy with our answer you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

7. Age

ChatShow is for adults. You must be at least 18 to hold an account: you confirm it when you create the account, we keep the time of that confirmation, and we close an account we find belongs to someone younger.

8. Cookies and your browser

Clerk sets the cookie that keeps you signed in. Your browser keeps three things of ours locally: the light or dark setting, your playback speed, and which notice you have already seen. Nothing else, and nothing for advertising.

9. Changes to this notice

We announce a change that matters on the site, or by email if you hold an account, and the date at the top changes with it.
