Making Conversation with Strangers Through Shared Tasks and Moments

Younger generations are becoming introverted as they become tied to their mobile phones and games consoles. They are losing the ability to converse in person with one another. What is the art of conversation, what are the ingredients to striking up a successful conversation with a total stranger?

The panel agreed a shared task or moment does the heavy lifting, so nobody needs to be clever. They split on the first step, from a light remark to a weekly activity where the task itself grants permission to speak.

Five heads, 30 minutes: one question, discussed from every side.

Which Fuel Type Wins Over Three Years on a £25K Budget?

If I was thinking of purchasing a car in the UK with a budget of £25K, taking into account tax, insurance, maintenance costs, mileage fees, fuel costs. Over tge next three years which would offer the better value - an electric, hybrid, petrol or diesel car?

The panel weighed electric, hybrid, petrol and diesel costs over three years, finding home charging is electric's strongest card while public charging erodes its saving. They split on whether a nearly-new electric wins or merely competes, with a cheaper used petrol or hybrid favoured for modest mileage.

Two heads, 15 minutes: one question, answered from two sides.
